Meet Central’s newest club: Atelier
Throughout school, students express their individual fashion interests simply through their daily outfits. Two juniors, Madison Andoniadis and Grace Lu, are taking their interest in fashion to the next level. The two girls started a fashion club, Atelier, which had its first interest meeting on Jan. 13.
“Fashion is a really positive way of self-expression and we wanted to be able to actively explore it with other people from our school,” said Andoniadis, on their inspiration to start the club.
In Atelier, the girls will be leading the study of fashion shows, fashion in films, school decor, fashion photography, fashion journalism, and the creation of fashion journals.
Along with leading Atelier, Andoniadis and Lu have studied and expressed their love of fashion in alternative ways. Andoniadis designs clothing and draws fashion boards while Lu is the owner of a Polyvore account with around 7,000 followers.
Through the club, the girls plan on providing more background on several different aspects of careers in the fashion industry including marketing, public relations, and editorials.
They plan to meet at 3:10 p.m. in room 137; make sure to listen for announcements for the next meeting date.
