Cinnamon rolls are one of many new updates to the cafeteria’s offerings.

On Monday, Feb. 5, Quest Food Management Services introduced new breakfast food items to the cafeteria’s Rise line, giving students more options to choose from.

Due to the many early activities in the building, from club meetings to athletic practices, the cafeteria is always open in the morning with a selection of breakfast items that students and faculty can purchase before 8 a.m. However, some students indicated that they would like to see more options.

“[The new breakfast items were implemented] so you guys have more choices,” said Kristin Kasprzak, food service director. “We love keeping the students happy.”

Although it’s not new to the menu, french toast sticks have been a go-to option for some students.

Some of the new breakfast items include freshly made cinnamon rolls, waffles on Wednesday, an omelette station on Tuesday and Friday, and yogurt parfaits with fruit and granola. Though Quest has noted the popularity of the chicken biscuit, some students prefer different items.

“For a quick and cheap breakfast, the school does a good job providing various options, especially the muffins,” said Shayaan Borok, junior.

Despite these new menu items, many students still prefer to eat breakfast at home out of convenience.

“I get to school around 7:50 a.m. and usually get the breakfast sandwich, but the line can be long sometimes, making me late for my first period class,” said Anthony Zayed, sophomore.

Depending on teacher policies, students may sometimes purchase food to bring to their first period classes. After 8 a.m., food is offered at all stations throughout lunch periods and at the snack line after school.

The breakfast menu at school is continuing to expand giving students a broader range of options. For more information on Quest and its rotational lunch menus, students may check here.
