Since the college admissions process is happening right now, Central has been hosting visits for representatives from different colleges so seniors can learn more about the college they want to attend next fall.
“These meetings are very useful,” said Nathan Levendel, senior.
One college visit was from Ohio State University on Sept. 20. The Ohio State spokesperson talked about campus life, sports, extracurricular activities, job acceptance, majors, etc. Students got a banner and some more information about the college. This school also talked about the scholarships they offer and financial aid. They also mentioned housing prices, but more information is given after you commit to their school.
Most college visits follow the same format as Ohio State University.
“I found these college meetings very informative,” said Quinn Doorhy, senior.
Schools also talk about how competitive their majors are and their admission rates. Since most schools are test optional now, many advise that if your score doesn’t fall in or above the 50th percentile range of last year’s students SAT and ACT scores, you should not send your scores.
“These meetings are very important and informative because they tell me about the college I want to attend in the fall,” said Andrius Marchertas, senior.
These college fairs can be important because they provide information about universities seniors may want to attend in the fall.
