Shaghf Cafe opened in the Willowbrook Plaza on Friday Nov. 22, giving the first 100 customers 25% off. Shaghf Cafe serves a variety of coffees and desserts, so people can come and lounge, talk and study at their cafe. This is their second location in Illinois; the first one is in Villa Park.
Shaghf Cafe makes coffees like lattes, frappuccinos, americanos and chai, and they have a variety of flavors such as matcha, caramel, mocha, white chocolate, etc. They also serve desserts like kunafa chocolates, cheesecakes, brownies and pastries.
“My favorite drink is the brownie frappe,” said Zahra Haque, senior. “I get it every time I go there because it’s so good.”
The cafe’s ambiance is student-work friendly, keeping free WiFi for everyone and sufficient study tables for people to come and work.
“I love the feeling you get when you go here,” said Ayla Qawas, senior. “The place is very aesthetic and pleasing for your eyes.”
Shaghf Cafe is designed with intricate art, such as mirrors with glitter borders and a map of the world in black and gold. The menu is large and displayed near the cashier allowing every customer to see each item clearly. At the end of the cafe, they provide a prayer room for everyone. They even have a shoe rack to use before entering the room.
“I think Shaghf Cafe is such a great place for everyone to feel united,” said Sofiya Qazi, senior. “They built a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.”
