The first quarter wasn’t too exciting in my opinion. The only score was Jalen Hurts rushing a touchdown, making the score 7-0 Eagles, according to Today.
In the second quarter, the Eagles were the only ones that scored. An Eagles player, Cooper DeJean picked off Patrick Mahomes’ pass and ran it in for a touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes was intercepted again, leading to AJ Brown scoring for the Eagles, making the score 24-0 Eagles.
The halftime show featured Kendrick Lamar and he played some of his songs like “Humble,” “DNA,” “Not Like Us,” “euphoria” and “squabble up,” according to USA Today. Famous actor Samuel L. Jackson introduced Kendrick during the halftime show. SZA and Serena Williams also made special guest appearances.
“I’m a big Kendrick Lamar fan, and I was happy by his performance during the halftime show.” said Mason Baskel, senior.
The third quarter started up with a Jake Elliot field goal and a long touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Devonta Smith, according to Today. Finally, the Chiefs got on the board with Xaiver Worthy getting a touchdown and making the score 34-6 Eagles, according to KXAN News.
According to NBC News, in the fourth quarter, the Eagles kicked two Jake Elliot field goals and the Chiefs scored two touchdowns from DeAndre Hopkins and Xavier Worthy, making the final score 40-22 Eagles.
“This was a very sad and depressing game for me because I’m a Chiefs fan,” said Brody Petersen, senior.
The gatorade color was yellow and the MVP was Jalen Hurts.
Overall, this was a very shocking game for me because I thought the Chiefs were going to win. It was a very fairly called game, and the Eagles defense really stepped up to win.
