On Sunday March 2, ABC aired the 97th Oscars. Central students had a variety of opinions and insights about the actors, the performances, movies and the overall reception.
Maya Reed, senior said that she had watched the Oscars on Sunday and said it was a very entertaining night for the actors.
“I enjoyed watching all my favorite actors get the awards that they deserve for the makings of their movies and work,” Reed said.
She also mentioned the movie “Wicked”.
“One of my favorite movies “Wicked” won two Academy awards for best costume design and production design which I thought was awesome for the cast,” Reed said.
Senior Kamile Zinis has also watched the award show.
“If I’m being completely honest, I just watch to see the actors walk the red carpet,” Zinis said.
Zinis also mentioned how she likes rating the outfits they choose to wear for the event.
“I like going on TikTok after and seeing what everyone says about their outfits and what they choose,” Zinis said.
Finally, junior Isabella Chiaramonte has a mix of opinions about the Oscars.
“I was really surprised to see that Mikey Madison had won best actress of the year in 2025,” Chiaramonte said.
She also mentions how she would have thought that Cynthia Erivo would have won it.
