In the modern world, the ideals behind nationalism are changing, and the people who used to denounce nationalism are watching as the masses surge towards a more nationalistic world. In the middle of this stands the United States.

For years, America has been a beacon of hope to countries who do not wish to have those nationalist qualities, and yet, now we must also revise our principles, and welcome home the heroes of our country. And this can all start by going to see the movie “American Sniper.”

Our country has turned on our heroes in past years. It has left them in the dark when they should have been praised, and now, finally, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for one of our country’s greatest men. Whether a person agrees or disagrees with war, the ideas portrayed in “American Sniper” show what really makes an American.

Chris Kyle’s actions, and the reasons for which he makes them, are symbolic of how all American’s should treat their fellow countrymen, and are symbolic of a true American hero. Kyle is the protagonist of the film, which highlights his time abroad and what happened to him once he returned home.

The world is changing around us, and it is time for the U.S. to catch up with our neighbors in honoring our heroes and their service to their nation and their people. This movie is one of the best possible ways in which students can show their patriotism, and I implore all the students to go to see it.

Chris Kyle should be a well known American hero due to all the sacrifices he made for our country, and the people of our school should visit the movie theater to see that.
