“Dog Man” came out on Jan. 31 and thus far has received 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and 86% on Fandango. Fans of Dav Pilkey, the author of the books “Dog Man” and “Captain Underpants” are excited for this newest film.
“I read the book when I was in elementary school and I’m excited that they are making it into a movie,” said Brody Petersen, senior.
The plot of this movie is that two best friends, a cop and a dog, fight crime together. The duo is faced with defusing a bomb and when they defuse the bomb wrong, the bomb explodes and injures the cop’s head and the dog’s body.
The doctors figure out the only way to save the duo is to sew the dog’s head onto the cop’s body, making Dog Man. Dog Man combines the mental smarts of a dog and the physical attributes of a man making an unstoppable combo. The villain throughout the movie is an evil cat named Petey.
“I’m excited for this film,” said Ayden Burk, junior. “The movie sounds funny.”
Overall, I was very excited when this movie came out because I grew up with the author Dav Pilkey. “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” was a great film, and I was thrilled to see “Dog Man” was coming out. The movie was great and funny, and it reminded me of the book.
“I’m going to watch ‘Dog Man’ this weekend, and I’m stoked,” said Will Stamer, freshman.
