Devils volleyball suffers loss to York
Last night the girls’ varsity volleyball lost a tough game against the York Dukes. The match results were 24-26 and 12-25.
These were surprising because the Devils dominated in the first set after holding a tight lead in the beginning. The Devils seemed to lose the lead when there was a lack of communication on the court. A standout player of the game was Lauren Fuller. Throughout the entire game Fuller spiked balls that were hard for Duke to handle. Fuller also had tips over the net that caught York players off guard. Nora Stack, sophomore, had a streak of serves that increased the gap between Dukes and the Devils.
In the second set, York gained a six point lead with the Devils failing to secure a single point. The Devils fell behind and didn’t have the finesse they were playing with in the first match. Fuller added points to the scoreboard with her remarkable spikes. The Devils always maintained high spirit out on the court but couldn’t regain the points they lost.
