On Sunday Sept. 8, the Chicago Bears played against the Tennessee Titans in the first week of the NFL season, and Central Bears fans were there to watch. The Bears defeated the Titans 24-17.
“I feel pretty good about the win the Bears got on Sunday,” said Quinn Doorhy, senior.
Even though the Bears offense didn’t do too well, their defense and special teams showed up with various turnover touchdowns.
“I knew the Bears were going to beat the Titans,” said Jack Carlin, senior.
The Bears’ new rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, from the University of Southern California, didn’t play too well, as he only passed for 93 yards and only completed 14 of his 29 completed passes.
The Chicago Bears defense helped them win by picking off Titans quarterback Will Levis two times, forcing one fumble, and sacking Levis three times.
The special teams got a punt-return touchdown and scored three field goals.
“It was a good win; the pick 6 at the end was pretty wild,” said Michael Plunkett, senior.
