Physics honors launch trebuchets
In groups of three or four, physics students built trebuchets that work on falling masses and levers only. After building their trebuchets, they took data to determine how changing the amount of falling mass on their trebuchet affected the distance their ping pong ball was able to travel. On competition day, the students launched their trebuchets and attempted to hit certain targets 0.5 meters to 2.5 meters away.
