Former Central standout joins Marquette basketball
Former Central boys’ basketball standout Peter Thaus was added to the Marquette University basketball roster last week, the team announced.
Thaus spent the beginning of the season as a student manager, but after both Deonte Burton and John Dawson transferred from the program, a spot opened up for the 6-foot-2, redshirt sophomore.
He will prove valuable in practice and games, as the Golden Eagles are down to just nine game eligible players.
“He’s been thrown in to scout team and different drills like that where he’s had to help us out,” MU center Luke Fischer told the Wisconsin Journal Sentinel. “He knows what he has to do and knows how he can help us, and he definitely will be able to.”
At Central, Thaus was a three year letter winner as his three point precision proved to be instrumental in the Devils’ 17-10 season.
Next on the schedule for Marquette is North Dakota on Dec. 22.
