The boys swim team gears up for its season following last year’s state championship win. While taking time to goof around, the boys all agree that practice is a serious time.

After last year’s phenomenal ending to the Red Devils’ swim team season as state champions, the team is now ready to take on another exciting run. The boys swim team practiced often during is off season, but now that the season has officially started, swimmers are gearing up for their competition.

“Last season, we had a lot of success, a lot of fun,” said Will Bowater, varsity team captain. “For training, I do a lot of club training, dry land, and lifting weights. I do that multiple times a week.”

While the rest of the team also worked hard in the off-season, they were conscious of the fact that they had lost three key members.

“We lost a lot of big seniors last year, but we have a lot of really, really good freshmen coming up so there’s just a different dynamic,” said Brian Glowniak, senior.

The team itself has prepared in the best way possible, despite the big losses. The mindset of the team is in the right place for another successful season.

“It’s my senior year, last year of swimming and I just want to have a great season,” Glowniak said.
