With spring break only a few days away things are starting to get a little wild. The COVID-19 situation has been improving and people are getting ready to travel. With this break, many people are going to be visiting family and friends that they haven’t seen in a while.

Since winter is just coming to an end many people are visiting warmer places like Florida, California, and Arizona. Whether it’s for some rest and relaxation or because of a special someone, many people are going to be leaving the state. Although, with the weather in Illinois being high 50s and 60s, staying here isn’t so bad either.

“Although not everyone is leaving, especially with the nice weather we are having staying in Illinois won’t be that bad and I can do some fun stuff,” said Josh Stalinger, junior.

People are going to many different states but Florida seems to be a hotspot.

“A family vacation to Florida is just what I need to relax and take my mind off things this break,” said Ashley Nieman,

junior.

Cocoa Beach, Fla. was named the number one budget location for spring break by Family Destinations Guide.

“If you are looking for some relaxed, cheap family getaway in April, the relaxed coastal surf town Cocoa Beach would be ideal. An iconic community to the east of Orlando on Florida’s Atlantic coast, it is lined with several budget hotels and family-run inns where you can find a room to suit your pocket,” said the Family Destinations Guide.

As you can see, although there are many places you can visit for a good price, you can still have a lot of fun here in Illinois.
