HC anticipates SB2K12

With a whole week between the exam-packed third and fourth quarters, students at Central are finding a variety of ways to spend their well-earned break.

Many students have found unique opportunities to pursue with the time.  “My plans are to go to Italy with the Latin program.  We are going to Rome, Siena, and Venice,” said Shreya Rao, sophomore. The Latin program has decided to take this unique opportunity to visit for educational and recreational purposes.

“Getting to see all the places we’ve learned about in Latin class for so long in person is going to be so surreal,” Rao said.  “Also, just spending time with my friends is the icing on the cake.”

Other students are also going to be able to spend time out of town and in the sun apart from the Latin program.  Suhana Thakrar, sophomore, is planning to go on a Caribbean cruise with her family.

“I’m looking forward to just relaxing and having a break from school,” said Thakrar. “Also, there’s a wave pool on the boat which sounds really cool.”

Many students will still be enjoying their break in the comfort of their own homes.  Suraj Marwaha, freshman, will be one of the students staying home over break, but he explained that simply relaxing and catching up on basic pleasures like T.V. would be more than enough for him.  “Vacations are for people with a life,” he jokingly said.  “If I was out of town, that would mean missing Khloe and Lamar!”

Thakrar shares the sentiments of many students who feel that the week prior to break drags on. “It’s been hard to stay focused on school when spring break is so close,” she said.

Rao agreed, saying this has been “one of the longest and most stressful weeks of the school year. What makes it worse is that spring came so early this year.”

Though all three students anticipate very different spring breaks, excitement and anticipation resonates with them all.
