Operation Snowball held its annual retreat on Nov. 10-12 at a camp retreat located in Frankfort, Ill. where teen leaders directed activities over the course of a three day overnight trip.

Participants discussed personal topics in an open environment with little stress, while incorporating enjoyable past times throughout the duration of the trip. Activities included bonfires, dances and workshops. The club arranged for daily speakers who spoke about the topic of making footprints on the moon, which inspired students to make an impact.

“It gives me an escape and the one thing that’s kept me going would probably be the amazing people,” said Michelle Hoisova, junior.

Hinsdale South participated in the same event giving students from both schools an opportunity to make new friends.

“Snowball is the best thing to happen to me, it changed my life, and it helped me see the positivity in people and in the world,” said Torie Chiaramonte, senior.

For more information regarding the event, Operation Snowball is sponsored by Mrs. Ferrone and Mrs. Cave, who are located in Room 230 and Room 107 respectively.

Retreat participants took time at the end of the activities for a group photo to capture the event.
