1. Go to a pumpkin patch/apple orchard
With the Chicago days getting shorter and colder every day, it is the perfect time to throw on your fall clothes and head to the pumpkin patch or apple orchard. Besides the fact that you can stock your house with pumpkins of your choice and enough apples to last you all season, it is the perfect photo opportunity,
“I got the best pictures for Instagram all while getting the most delicious treats,” said Jamie Konieczka, senior.
Go with your family or friends, (or even by yourself) for a day this fall season to get festive for the season.
2. Watch a scary movie
Whether you like newer movies like “The Quiet Place” or old classic movies like “Scream,” watching a scary movie is the perfect activity for the spooky season. Grab some popcorn and candy, light a candle and whether you are watching these movies with someone else or alone, it calls for a fun night in. Good luck going to sleep!
3. Visit a haunted house
If you want to take scary movies from the screen to real life, I highly recommend you go to a haunted house. Now I would not recommend you doing it alone, however. Despite the scare factor, going to a haunted house still remains as one of my favorite fall activities.
“It allows you to truly walk through all of those scary characters in real life with all your family and friends,” said Laila Baridi, senior.
Make sure you go at night and prepare yourself to get jump scared more than a couple times.
4. Carve pumpkins
After going to the pumpkin patch and picking out your perfect pumpkin, it would be a waste to not carve it! Set up your pumpkin with carving knives and a trash bag nearby. You can also prepare snacks and music for the perfect night to be creative and get good use of those pumpkins. When putting them outside, make sure the squirrels don’t eat your creation!
5. Try different fall treats
My personal favorite is trying different fall treats. Whether it be Starbucks or Dunkin’s fall drink menu to the variety of fall themed food at Trader Joe’s, pretty much every place has fall festive foods.
“My favorite Starbucks fall drink is a pumpkin spice latte,” said Katelyn Hernandez, senior.
