UFC 313 took place on March 8, 2025 in the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main fight of this event was Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

In the first fight, Mauricio Ruffy went against King Green, and Mauricio Ruffy won with a spinning heel kick right to Green’s head. He knocked King Green out cold in two minutes and seven seconds in round one. 

“That spinning heel kick was so cool it made me jump out of my seat,” said Jack Carlin, senior.

The next fight was Amanda Lemos versus Iasmin Lucindo, and Amanda Lemos won by unanimous decision.

In the third fight, Ignacio Bahamondes fought Jalin Turner, and Ignacio Bahamondes defeated Jalin Turner by a triangle choke at 2:29 of round one.

For the fourth fight it was Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev, and Justin Gaethje won by unanimous decision.

“This was one of the better fights of the night,” said Josh Bey, senior. “I really liked the intensity of the two fighters.”

And for the final fight Alex Pereira went against Magomed Ankalaev for the UFC light heavyweight championship. This fight lasted five rounds.  Pereira mainly did a lot of leg kicks to Ankalaev, and Ankalaev mainly focused on takedowns especially in the later rounds, even though he went 0-11 overall in takedowns against Pereira. But Pereira was a bit hesitant with his head strikes, and Ankalaev got the win by decision making him the new UFC light heavyweight champion.

“I’m devastated that Pereira lost, he should have won,” said Joao Lourenco, senior.

Overall, this was a very good match in my opinion.
