Over the last week, Playboi Cartis’ new album “Music” dropped on March 14th, 2025. This album is filled with many varieties of songs, some different, and some reliably the same as previous albums in the past.
Central students had a variety of opinions and insights about the making of this album, the songs, and the overall reception.
Chaira Jovic, sophomore, said that she has listened to the new album front and back and she is “Obsessed with it.”
“This album might be the best he has dropped in a while. I love every song, I haven’t been able to stop listening since it came out,” Jovic said.
She also mentioned themes of love and Playboi Carti’s own personal transformation.
Senior Kamile Zinis has also listened to the new album “Music” and has a variety of opinions.
“I don’t think that this one tops his past work. I didn’t really feel connected to the music like I normally do with his other songs,” Zinis said.
Zinis also mentioned a song that she thought was alright.
“The only song that I would willingly listen to is “TOXIC”. I think that one is acceptable,” Zinis said.
Finally, senior Nate Merz talked about the work ethic behind this album.
“I think that this new album is definitely a piece of work. I really think rappers like himself have to pour in a lot of creative inspiration and work hard on stuff like this. I think rap is very hard to do that with and Playboy always gets the job done,” Merz said.
