The Drama Club’s fall play is “Puffs,” a show based on the Harry Potter series.

On Nov. 16-18, the Hinsdale Central Drama Club will be performing a brand new play in the school auditorium called “Puffs,” or “Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic.”

“Puffs,” originally written by Matt Cox, is a comedy play that is a Harry Potter parody. It uses the magical world of Harry Potter in order to make the audience laugh. The play follows three Hufflepuffs through the same years as everybody’s favorite wizard.

In order to get “Puffs” ready in time, the Drama Club has been hard at work.

“There’s always a lot to do,” said Susan Jaffe, director of “Puffs.” “There’s always a lot of moving pieces when you’re working with 50 people on a project.”

Despite working hard, the Drama Club is looking forward to delivering a play that people of all ages will be able to enjoy and have fun with.

“We were really excited when [‘Puffs’] was announced because we just knew that it was going to be a really fun show,” said Max Zhu, senior and member of the Drama Club.

As the year comes to a midpoint, the seniors of the Drama Club are looking forward to performing one of their last plays before the end of the year. This means new people will have to step up and join the club in order to make up for the loss.

“If it’s not for you, that’s fine, but like all the seniors say this at the end of the year, they wish they had participated more, they wished they could have joined sooner,” said Emily Lovera, senior and member of Drama Club. “So for anyone who’s thinking about it, I would just definitely say…take that first step.”

The play will be hosted in the Hinsdale Central auditorium through Nov. 16-18 at 7 p.m. For the first time ever, the play will be free for any student with a Hinsdale Central ID, but adults and children can still join in on the fun for $10 and $5 respectively.
