Red Devils fall to Lions 48-45

On Friday, Jan. 19, Hinsdale Central played Lyons Township and lost by a score of 48-45. Lyons Township moves to a 6-12 record, while Hinsdale Central moves to a 9-12 record.

The game was back and forth between the two teams, coming down to the final shot of the night.

“[Lyons Township] games are my favorite because the crowds for both schools are always insane,” said Tyler Thick, junior and center for the Red Devils. 

Daniel Orozco, senior, was the leading scorer of the night with 19 points. He was followed by Micheal Howell, junior, with seven, Tyler Thick, junior, and Vince Buzelis, junior, with six respectively and Dillon Orozco, junior, with four.

“Our passing was good but we needed to take more shots,” said Will Kusak, senior and guard for the Red Devils.

The Red Devils’ next game is on Friday, Jan. 26, at York High School at 7:00 p.m. As well, they will once again face the Lions at Lyons Township on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 5:00 p.m.

“I think we will beat [Lyons Township] next time we play them at their place,” Daniel Orozco said.
