Whether relaxing on a Monday of a three-day weekend or chilling during a normal weekend, here are some ideas to pass your time while being away from school.
Watch movies
Over the weekend, you can watch some recently released movies. For example, you can watch films like “Sonic 3,” “Moana 2,” “Mufasa: The Lion King” and “Back in Action” that have recently come out. Some, like “Back in Action,” are already on streaming platforms that you can access at home.
“Sonic 3 looks good,” said Patrick Benington, senior. “I might go watch it with some friends.”
Watch football
Currently, NFL playoffs are in the divisional round, and students can binge the games leading up to the Super Bowl. You can access the NFL schedule here: link. Upcoming games like the Bills vs. Chiefs and Commanders vs. Eagles are happening this Sunday. Students can also start looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday, which is on Feb. 9.
The College Football Playoff National Championship happened on Monday, featuring the Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs the Ohio State Buckeyes.
“I’m going to be watching the Notre Dame vs. Ohio State game on Monday because I am a huge Notre Dame fan,” said Patrick Cahill, senior.
Support the Red Devil teams
There are many winter sports that are ongoing right now, and you can attend the games to support the Red Devil athletes. Boys varsity basketball has a home game on Jan. 24 at 7 pm, girls varsity water polo has a home game on Jan. 26 at 1 pm, and boys varsity baseball has a home game on Jan. 27 at 3:15 pm.
Catch up on some schoolwork
Catching up on some homework is always a good thing to do over the weekend. Studying for tests is important if you have exams on Tuesday or anytime early in the week.
“I have an AP Calculus test on Tuesday, so I’m going to study for that,” said Josh Bey, senior.
