Although Lyons Township won the game, the Red Devils had a large amount of support coming from the fan section.

The boys bowling team faced off against Lyons Township on Thursday, Nov. 29. The team lost but had some bright spots.

John Zolpe, senior, had a strong game and led the Red Devil bowling team. Zolpe went over 200 in his first set of frames.

“Zolpe is the team, he is usually one of our biggest contributors,” said Jack LaDieu, junior team member.

Even though it was a loss, the atmosphere at Brunswick Zones was electric. Red Devil Nation came out and showed a lot of support. Bowling matches are typically quiet, but the meet against LT was the opposite.

On Thursday, Nov. 30, the school’s boys and girls bowling teams competed against Lyons Township at Suburbanite Bowl in Westmont.

“This is the most invested I’ve been in a Hinsdale Central sporting event in a while,” said Braden Cunniff, junior fan.

This was the Red Devils’ fourth loss of the season, making their record 3-4. The team started off hot after going 3-1 but they have dropped three in a row, including a recent loss to Hinsdale South on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The boys have six matches left in their regular season, and they are confident they can bounce back and still finish their season off strong, especially now that they have found a good luck charm.

“We found a rusty peanut under a table and we shake it before every game for luck and for a high score,” said Nicky Armanda, junior.

The team’s next match is against IC Catholic at Brunswick Zones in Glendale Heights on Monday, Dec. 4 at 4:15 p.m.
