“The Volley for the Cure” game took place on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The girls volleyball team at Central had a variety of opinions and insights about the game and the overall reception.
“‘Volley for the Cure’ is a pretty special game. We raise money for breast cancer funds, and all proceeds go to help that cause,” said Alice Joergenrud, senior.
Joergenrud said that being a senior on the team is a lot different than it was the past years.
“The seniors get more say in things, and we are held to a higher standard and have to take on more responsibilities,” Joergenrud said.
In the end, Central won the game.
“It wasn’t our best game,” said Caitlyn Peterson, senior. “We lost a set to Hinsdale South, but thankfully we ended up winning the game.”
Peterson also mentions that the excitement for “Volley for the Cure” is always a fun time.
“The energy during the ‘Volley for the Cure’ games is always so high, and it is such a fun environment to play in,” Peterson said.
Finally, senior Allie Garchar talked about the comparison of the different seasons.
“This season has been great,” Garchar said. “Definitely one of my favorite ones out of my four years.”
Nevertheless, she has played all four years and enjoyed all of them.
Overall, players talked about the similarities and differences between the seasons, and their excitement for this special game.
