How to transition from summer style to fall fashion

Katie Callahan pairs her sundress with a jean jacket to cover her when it’s cold and to easily take off when it’s warm.
While walking to school, the weather is cool, but while leaving it’s hot outside. When the weather takes a turn midday, it’s tricky to decide whether to wear a summer or fall outfit. Here are some key essentials to add to your outfit during the transition period between summer and fall:
For girls, light jackets are perfect to wear over your summery outfit and easy to take off when it gets too hot.
Taylor Reinhardt, junior, uses a flannel to transition from summer to fall, “I need my flannel to cover my arms when I come to school and it’s easy to take off if it’s really hot”.
Other trendy alternatives to a flannel are a jean jacket or a long cardigan. To go for longer pants instead of covering your upper half , try wearing wide leg pants.
“When I get to school it’s decently cold but when I leave it’s pretty hot so i have to find the perfect balance”, said junior Nico Bucciarelli.

For boys, long sleeve polos and shorts are the perfect combination to balance the difference in weather during the day.

Along with adding warmer articles of clothing, changing from brighter colors to warmer colors is a great way to transition into fall.
Commenting on her outfit, junior Holly Swasko said, “Fall colors are a lot about the richer and darker colors and summer colors are brighter and neon so I wanted to stay away from that.”
