On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, season three of one of Prime Video’s most popular TV series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” (TSITP) came out. After more than a year of waiting for the new season, viewers are ecstatic that it has been launched. With just two episodes originally launched and a new additional episode every Wednesday, TSITP has left many intrigued.
This TV series revolves around a group of teenagers who grew up spending their summers at a beach house in “Cousins Beach,” a fictional town in Massachusetts. It is narrated by Belly Conklin (played by Lola Tung), a girl who values her summers spent at Cousins greatly. Cousins had always been a magical place to Belly until she was caught in a love triangle between the two boys she spent her entire childhood with.
Belly is questioning the long time relationship she has held between the two brothers, Conrad (played by Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (played by Gavin Casalegno). Jeremiah is the younger party-animal best friend, while Conrad is her older protector and role model.
For Belly, it has always been Conrad, he is always there for her when she needs him, he is more closed off but has important values like school and protecting Belly. Jeremiah has been Belly’s best friend for as long as she could remember, he strives in the party-life, and does every little thing with Belly. The two brothers develop a hidden love for Belly and with their differing personalities, a debate evolves.
The team Conrad and team Jeremiah debate continues within this season, highlighting Belly’s struggles to pick one brother because she feels a special connection with the two of them.
“It was reassuring cause I knew that she and Conrad would end up together….I’m team Conrad, her and Jeremiah’s relationship is superficial while her relationship with Conrad is deep and to the heart,” said Talia Maghrabi, senior.
Once Conrad and Jeremiah’s mother, Susannah, passes, everything falls apart, but it ends in Jeremiah and Belly falling for each other. Now in season three, there are many plot twists that have left viewers in awe.
“I feel bad for Jeremiah but he also did this to himself and I think Belly was just being really rude,” said Victoria Hau, senior
Hau is commenting on the turn in the relationship for Jeremiah and Belly that happens early in the season. But without giving away too much, both characters work on fixing what has been broken, which loops Conrad back into the discussion.
“I hope she ends up with Conrad, and I am really glad she left Jeremiah because he cheated on her,” said Braemar Gray, junior.
This season has left viewers disappointed and have even made them switch which brother they favor. To see which brother wins over Belly, tune in to the next episode, which airs on Sept. 17.
