As the air gets colder and the leaves start to turn orange, students can tell that it’s about to be Halloween. Many students are excited about this time of the year; it means more candy, being able to dress up, and also doing the fun fall activities that come along with Halloween.
“Just a few weeks ago my friends and I were able to go to HellsGate haunted house. It was really fun even though the lines were super long, but it was definitely worth it in the end,” said Lane Inabnit, senior.
Costume planning seems to be one of the most popular parts of the season. Some of the popular places students are buying their Halloween costumes from are Amazon and Windsor. Many students say that figuring out and planning their costume is their favorite part of Halloween.
“I love being able to plan my costume. This year I am Padme from Star Wars and my best friend is Darth Vader and then my other costume is Tate McRae, who is one of my favorite music artists,” said Tegan Steines, senior.
Another fun activity that students also love is being able to decorate. Halloween decorations are popping up everywhere, around the school and even around local towns. Some classrooms are filled with some halloween lights and some fake pumpkins. Many students also claim that they love decorating their houses with their family.
“My mom has always loved decorating for every holiday, especially for Halloween. My sister and I always help my mom out when she’s decorating,” said Charlie Tornabene, sophomore. “The whole house is always decorated for whatever holiday there is.”
Whether you’re planning to trick-or-treat, going to a haunted house, or just staying in and watching scary movies, one thing is certain: students at Hinsdale Central are in full gear for Halloween this year.
