A new hot-spot restaurant has joined Oakbrook’s dining scene. In December, STK Steakhouse had its grand opening on 22 St. in Oakbrook. People in the Chicago suburbs have been rushing to go there to experience a wide range of food and luxury dining.
STK is highly renowned for its high-quality cuts and its refined cooking of a traditional steakhouse. Reviews claim it is a lounge-like restaurant with an energetic atmosphere that makes eating dinner there an amazing experience.

”I went to STK to celebrate my birthday with my family, the food was so good and the music put us all in a good mood. We got their famous cloud dessert to celebrate. It was so cool to look at,” said Laila Darwish, senior.
STK plays in-house music giving an up-beat vibe to the restaurant and the guests dining. Aside from its famous meats this restaurant is most popular for its renowned cloud dessert. This dessert dish is a mix of cheesecakes and ice cream all under a large cotton candy. Other than hitting the sweet spot, what makes this dish so popular is the experience brought with it. It is lit on fire which burns down the cotton candy and reveals the treats under.
”STK is my new favorite restaurant, what I like about it is you can dress fancy and casually. I wore jeans but there were many people in dresses, it is a perfect mix of elegance and ease” said Ellie Roberts, junior.
Though it is a steakhouse, STK doesn’t necessarily fall under the elegance category, the music, experiences, and look of the restaurant blend class and simplicity together. STK’s most popular dish is the tender filet as it is most famous for their high-quality, dry-aged steaks.
“My steak was cooked to perfection…I really liked the servers. They were so sweet and funny it made our dinner more lively,” said Dilnaz Rasha, senior.
