At many high schools, one of the most talked about drink spots right now is “7 Brew.” What started as a growing coffee chain has quickly turned into a weekend or even weekly stop for students. Its popularity continues to rise, and for many teens, it has become part of their routine.
One of the biggest reasons for this popularity is the ability to create almost any drink imaginable. From coffee and energy drinks to teas, smoothies and flavored sodas, the options feel endless. Customers can mix flavors, add syrups and customize their drinks in an easy way that makes each order unique. This level of creativity keeps people coming back, since no two visits have to be the same.
The nearest location is in Naperville, Ill., located at 1203 Iroquois Ave., but for those who love it, the twenty-five minute commute is worth the drive.
“One of the drinks that I’ve ordered from 7 Brew was a blue raspberry, pineapple, lemonade and fizz. It’s so good and tastes just like a jolly rancher. The fun color of the drink is a bright blue and is definitely more exciting than a Starbucks drink,” said Sarah Pelinkovic, junior.
Beyond the drinks, the experience itself plays a major role in why students enjoy going to 7 Brew. Even while waiting in line, the environment feels upbeat and welcoming. Music is often playing, and employees bring high energy that makes the wait more enjoyable. Instead of feeling like just another spot, it turns into a fun part of the day where students can order and enjoy the atmosphere from their cars.
“7 Brew always has the best music playing while you’re waiting in your car for your drink. It’s always good vibes. The music and trying to figure out what drink you’re going to create definitely makes the lines move faster and also the whole experience better,” said Karina Miller, junior.
However, the popularity of 7 Brew also comes with some downsides. Since it is so well-liked, the line of cars is often wrapped around the building and even down the street. This happens especially during peak times like after school, on the weekends especially at night since 7 Brew is open until 10 p.m. For some students and for many, the long wait can be frustrating, even if the end result is worth it. The constant line of cars show just how popular the sport has become.
“Just a couple weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon me and my friends went to 7 Brew and the line was so long. It was wrapped all the way around the building as wrapped around the connecting street. Even though it can be annoying, the line really doesn’t take that long,” said Nora Seraphine, sophomore.
Overall, 7 Brew has become more than just a place to get a drink. Its mix of customization and positive energy has made it a favorite spot among students. Even with long lines, many still find it worth the stop. As its popularity continues to grow, 7 Brew is proving to be a major part of student culture outside of school.
