How to: succeed in fantasy football

Students can watch their team’s status from their phones.

As we find ourselves half way through the fantasy football season, you may be struggling with your team, but here are some tips to think of for the rest of the season to maybe hit the playoffs.

Let’s start with trade targets; if you can trade for people like Marquese Brown, who puts up consistently good numbers, it could help your roster. Knowing Kyler Murray, a quarterback who has been known to favor Brown, is coming back from an injury, this is the time to do it.

Also, try to trade away your mid-tier receivers like DK Metkalf, George Pickens or Jordan Addison because Justin Jefferson is coming back and Kirk Cousins got hurt. Trade away similar caliber receivers like the ones I listed for Marquese Brown.

Another good trade target right now is Josh Jacobs. He has had some questionable performances but with his head coach, Josh Mcdaniels, getting fired, and new head coach, Antonio Pierce, he’s going to be used more.

This week we already saw a major increase in performance from Jacobs, as he had a season high 98 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns compared to last week’s 15 carries for 61 yards, and one touchdown.  With this big uptrend on usage it is safe to say that he is a good trade target.

For Josh Jacobs, I would trade away guys like: James Connor (a higher caliber RB) and a lower caliber RB like Tyler Aguliar, and maybe Alexander Mattison.

If you are struggling right now but you still have a chance to make the playoffs, trades will make or break your season.

Recently, I traded Jaylen Waddle and Terry McLaurin for Austin Ekler; Ekler was a massive part in me winning this week and I am now 6-3. Throughout the whole season I have been making big trades and it has helped me tremendously throughout the season.

If you have a bad record (4-5, 3-6,2-7) you need to be making moves to increase your chances of doing well this year.  If you have superstars on your team like Aj Brown, Austin Ekeler, Tyreek HIll, even guys like Etiene, you need to trade them away.

Get decent players that put up consistent points. If you’re selling Aj Brown, sell them for guys like Josh Jacobs, and then a decent receiver. It doesn’t have to be that, but something along those lines.

Also, stalk your waver wire, pay attention to who is trending and then pick them up. They can also make or break weeks.  At this point of the season, if you want to succeed, you need to pay attention to these things.
