The Hinsdale Central girls soccer team is in full swing for all levels, including the Freshman B, Freshman A, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. The team has had a successful season so far, with a record of nine to two to one. They are currently ranked second in their conference.
Varsity players Emily DiTomasso and Piper Bingham are two high performing players on the team, with DiTomasso leading the team in goals and Bingham in assists.
The Varsity team’s next game is away against Oak Park-River Forest on April 18 at 6:15 p.m. They are coming off of a win against Geneva on April 15, with a score of four to one.
All levels of girls soccer have team goals that they want to accomplish before the end of the 2026 season.
“I hope that our whole team can play together and keep winning games this season,” said Reese Myhra, a freshman on the Freshman A team.
Varsity players also have goals for their team this season.
“Our team’s goal for this season is to beat LT. We also want to go and win our conference and make it as far into the playoffs as possible,” said Peyton Regnery, a junior on the Varsity team.
Other players have very high expectations for the team this year.
“I want our team to make it to state this year,” said Caitlin Doherty, a junior on the Varsity team.
Girls also have individual goals that they would like to achieve during the season.
“I’m working towards getting healthy, since I am hurt right now. I really want to get back out there so I can help the team,” Doherty said.
Other girls have different definitions of an individual goal that they are working towards.
“I would like to connect with more of my freshman teammates to get them all ready for Varsity next year,” said Colette Wilson, a sophomore on the Junior Varsity team.
Teams participate in team bonding outside of practice and games, and have a variety of different activities that they do together.
“We all hang out a lot in our free time. We try to eat a lot of meals together, and have a lot of pasta parties,” said Chloe Fisher, a freshman on the Varsity team.
Athletes have different pre-game rituals to get them ready for big games.
“Our team prepares for games by gathering in the team room and hyping ourselves up with some music,” Regnery said.
Other girls have more personal routines that they complete before every game.
“I always put on my right cleat and my right shin guard first before my left,” Doherty said.
