On Tuesday, April 23, the Girls varsity Lacrosse Team defeated LTHS, 17-7.

On Tuesday, April 23 the Girl’s Lacrosse team played conference rival Lyons Township High School. The game took place at LT, and the girls won 17-7.

“We all played really well,” said Sydney Collignon, senior captain. “We started off strong and held the lead. I’m proud of our team.”

Sophomore Jamison Pecilunas contributed to the team’s victory against Central’s rival, LTHS.

The team rallied around junior Jenna Collignon’s 6 goals. The girls took control of the game from the start and dominated on both offense and defense.

With this win, the girls are now 11-2 on the season. The girls have only seven games left, and they are currently on pace to beat last season’s record.

Last year they started out 5-4 but picked it up as the season progressed. They closed the season out with a 9-1 stretch heading into the state tournament.

“We’re looking forward to the rest of the season. Our main goal comes in the state tournament and we are preparing well for it,” said Ella Ferrel, senior.

The next game is away against Carmel High School in Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday, April 27. The full schedule can be found here.
