The varsity Red Devils hockey team took on the Waubonsie Warriors at Willowbrook Ice Arena on Thursday, Oct. 20. The game was a tight affair, but Hinsdale prevailed 6-4. Both teams were projected to be at the top of the Illinois West conference this season, and the contest did not disappoint.

As the game got more intense, Waubonsie converted on two power plays to tie the game as the third period began. It didn’t take long for the “Black Line” to strike again, as Devine smashed a centering feed from DuFort into the net, taking the score to 4-3.

Captain Alexander Hadesman scored with a backhand move on the breakaway to seal the game in the middle of the third period. Senior Anthony Martirano completed the scoring with an empty netter, ending the game with a score of 6-4.

After participating in a tournament on the weekend of Oct 22, the Red Devils are currently 9-2-1, and will face off against Oak Park River Forest on Thursday Oct. 27 in Oak Park.
