Anna Pellegrino is a junior writer who enjoys dancing and going out with her friends. When she’s not at Mock Trial practice, you can catch her singing (more like screaming) off-key in the car or procrastinating doing her homework. Her favorite things include the color blue, the show “How I Met Your Mother”, and her dog Payton. After a long day, she loves listening to music, online shopping, or binge-watching Netflix, instead of getting some much-needed sleep. You can reach Anna at 821079@hinsdale86.org.

As the weather gets nicer, there are many ways to enjoy the sun in quarantine. One way is to go through the drive-thru lane at your favorite ice cream shop, such as Andy's Frozen Custard.

Enjoy the sun by grabbing your computer and sitting outside as you do your e-learning.

Make movie night extra special by using a projector and white screen to turn your backyard into a movie theater. All you need then are some blankets, snacks, and your favorite movie.

For times when you just want to get out of your house, hop in the car, roll down the windows, play some music, and enjoy the ride.

You can keep busy in quarantine by baking some delicious treats for you and your family.

As businesses begin to open up again, including Starbucks, enjoy your favorites with curb-side pickup.

Grab some marshmallows and you are ready for a relaxing night by the fire.

Going on a bike ride is a fun way to get some exercise and pass the time.

Although everyone is stuck in their homes, many still celebrated Easter by putting up festive decorations both inside and outside of their houses.

Easter Sunday is the perfect day to spend some time with your family. You can do a puzzle, take a walk, or play a game.

Another way to celebrate at home is to take the eggs you decorated and turn them into an Easter egg hunt.

Kristin Mertz, senior, performed the song "All I Ask".

Seniors Brynn Kuhlman, Sophia Malamazzian, and Olivia Parrillo danced to the song "Carried Away".

Chloe Opler, senior, sang an original song.

Senior Aaron Lu played an excerpt from "Chopin Ballade No. 1" on the piano.

Senior Vukasin Pesic performed three magic tricks with the help of randomly selected audience members.

The band, Quiller Keen, performed the song "Killer Queen". This band included senior George Boddicker, senior Victor Buccellato, junior Jackie Buccellato, senior Mia Gaddis, freshman Ethan Hallberg, junior Cassie Maine, and junior Anya Shah.

Senior Tess Klygis sang the lead solo in the portion of the Seussical that the cast performed.

Jack Doppke, junior, played guitar while singing "Blackbird".

The band, The Jackson 7, played at the Variety Show. Senior Jackson Hughes, pictured, was the lead singer of this band.

Grace Deering, senior, sang the song "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato.

Freshman Tabi Loera sang the song "idontwannabeyouanymore" by Billie Eilish.

Dior Nicholson, senior, and Jaylen Laws, junior, were part of the group discussion during the annual Diversity Town Hall held during Black History Month.

On Friday, Feb. 14 the choir celebrated Valentine's day with Singing Valentines in which they went into classrooms and sang to students.

Mrs. Jennifer Burkemper, choir teacher, held small auditions with the students and decided who would get to participate.

Students had the opportunity during each lunch period to buy a Singing Valentine’s for $5 with all proceeds going towards charity and to several schools that don’t have enough funding for a music program.

On Friday, Feb. 14 the choir celebrated Valentine's day with Singing Valentines in which they went into classrooms and sang to students.

The choir went around for all 10 periods performing Singing Valentines. Each group consisted of three to five choir students.

The choir started preparing in January, and got to choose from around 50 songs to perform.

BDTW Board placed two "Take What You Need Walls" around school as Tuesday's Kindness Week challenge.

Throughout the week, students were able to sign their name on a pillar in the cafeteria as a pledge to "Choose Kindness".

Friday's Kindness Week Challenge was to spread a positive attitude by leaving positive messages on the bathroom mirrors, reminding people to be kind this week and every week.

Board and members of BDTW decorated the bathroom and locker room mirrors on Friday to spread positive messages to people throughout the day.

Maria River, junior board member, Sarah Cernugel, senior member, and other BDTW members passed out jolly ranchers on Thursday morning, reminding people to "Be Jolly".

Rachel Thompson, senior, along with the other BDTW board members, set up two "Take What You Need" walls around school, encouraging students and faculty to take down a post-it note with the positive attribute they needed more of written on it.

Breaking Down the Walls (BDTW) hosted Kindness Week from Monday, Feb. 3 to Friday, Feb. 7. Each day consisted of a different challenge for students and faculty to participate in. Monday's challenge was to pass around "compliment clothespins" with positive sayings and reminders.
