"Over winter break I spent a week in Dubai and got to see the biggest skyscraper in the world," said Amelia Zayd. "I saw some of my relatives there and was happy to finally get away from the Chicago weather."

“I went to California to visit my grandparents in Palm Springs. I also got my wisdom teeth pulled out, which was really painful,” said Maia Halle, senior.

"For winter break, I went to Park City and skied for a week," said Connor Phillips, senior. "I also watched the new Star Wars movie, which I totally recommend, and the best part of my break was getting a goldfish."

"I went to the Philippines and went on a helicopter ride to see the volcano that recently erupted which was really cool," said Nick Mulvihill, junior. "I watched the new Star Wars movie and [started] the show "You", I'd recommend it if it didn't mess with my brain."

“I went to the Christkindlmarket in downtown Chicago. My mom and I had the hot chocolate there, which was really good,” said Francesca Schiavitti, junior.

“Over winter break, I went to Tulsa. I honestly didn’t think there’d be much to see but we went to 'the gathering place' and the building and giant park was amazing along with the view and large assortment of activities to enjoy," said Sarah Lian, senior.

Many students traveled over winter break, whether it was to enjoy warm weather in Hilton Head (as pictured) or to ski mountains in Utah.
